the one about STILL not finding my wedding ring

I know, I should just give up my search, but I am just not willing to do that yet. I still think that I might just stumble upon it one day when I am at that park looking. I was going through some wedding pictures awhile back and I found this. (Check out my SWEET nails!!! lol)
We were so annoyed with our photographer at out wedding that I remember when she was taking these hand pictures I wanted to smack her. We were pulling the ugliest faces right when she snapped this. It was so funny!

And you know, let me just say...... Brett gives me such a hard time about losing my ring. But he lost his when we had only been married a couple of years! Sure, mine cost a few thousand more than his, but STILL! And he never wore it anyway. I wore mine all the time. I now have a little gold band that I wear; He still wears nothing. Rhonda and her family told me I have a "kah-nard-ley" ring. You "kah-nard-ley" see it! (he he he)

I was at the park where I lost it searching a few weeks ago. I was just sure it was my lucky day and I wanted to take pictures when I found it, so I had my camera. This is the exact place I was standing when it slipped off my finger. There was a ton of snow at the time of the disappearance, so we assumed it was pushed into this area with all of the snow.

I know I have posted this picture before, but I think it is so cute, I had to put it here again. One time when we were searching, Quayd found some chalk and wrote this.

the one about my missing ring

Remember how I lost my wedding ring? Well we have still been searching for it, but we were just waiting for one last heap of snow to melt so we could check the only place we haven't torn apart.

I noticed the other day that the snow was melted. I just had this great feeling tonight that I was going to find it. We took some rakes and flashlights. The park was really lit up, I was surprised. It's definitely not that bright in the winter when you are searching for a lost ring in the foggy cold snow. Errrrrrrrrr. Anyway, we searched and searched.

No luck.

We did find some mushy sidewalk chalk, a lapel pin of an eagle wing or something, a few broken Christmas decorations and lights, a beer bottle cap, tons of cigarette butts, a quarter, and a dime. As Brett and I were searching, Quayd got a hold of the sidewalk chalk. Unfortunately, he wasn't helping much in the ring search, so we told him to do whatever to keep himself occupied. He said he wanted to help, and I think he did.

This is what he did, all by himself. (ring lost)
How sweet is that?

the one about cold spring weather

So it's official. Spring Fever has hit our house, big time! We are all itching to get outside, but it is still just a tad to cold. Janice said it got to 50 today, but 2news said 42 was our high. I don't know.

After work and school, Quayd and I ran to town with my mom and grandma. We had lunch and went to Wal-Mart. Quayd and I wore flip-flops, short sleeves and no jackets. We knew it would be plenty warm, but to our surprise, burr! Then when Brett got home, we decided we would go search for my long lost wedding ring, since the snow is melting at the park. Again, Quayd and I wore flip-flops, short sleeves and no jackets. Still burrr. By the way, no luck. We actually even went to the pawn shop to see if by any chance someone had found it and pawned it. Nope.

Anyway, this is where my story gets very chilly.... tonight, the Galley kids came down to play with Quayd. They went right outside to ride bikes and jump on the trampoline. Brayden and Brennen came over too. I knew they must be freezing, but they didn't care. They played outside for hours! Since the time changed yesterday, it stays light until nearly 7:30. They were loving it, so I ran outside to snap a picture. Look, there is still a ton of snow! That is Brayden and Eli at the top, then Brennen, Quayd and Amelia at the bottom. They are crazy! Check out Brayden's new do, by the way. Thanks Janice! This is just a preview of what our house will be like this summer. We have night games here almost every night! (Watch future blogs for more info.)

I also took picture of the ugly ditch that runs in front our our house. This will be the last time you see it this way because the city is putting in culvert and filling it up. We are so glad! It will be a mess for most of the summer but it will sure be worth it. Last summer, Quayd, Brennen and I were riding our bikes to 7-11 and Quayd lost his balance and rode right into the ditch. It was so scary. He could have and should have been hurt so badly, but he wasn't. It was crazy. Anyway, we are glad to see it leaving! Here are some bad before pictures. I hate this time of year. It is so ugly and brown and dirty. Only a few more weeks until it starts getting pretty. Thank goodness.

the one about losing my wedding ring at our photo shoot

I have so many things to blog about , but the one thing really pressing on my mind is this. I lost my wedding ring. I can't believe it. I really lost it. It's gone.

Here is the story.... For our yearly Christmas cards, we like to add a snap shot of either Quayd, or all of us together. We decided to go to this cute little park area in town and snap some shots in the new fallen snow. I thought it would look great in the dark. (Actually I knew it would look great because me and my girlfriends took some practice shots there on girls night out on Friday. You will see in the next day or two when I post those pictures.) We have a GREAT friend, Lindsay, who does our pictures for us. She lives close by, so we called to see if we could steal her for a second to take some pics. She was so kind to come and do it for us. She is a great sport. Anyway, she snapped away as we posed and played together in the snow. She had just told us we had 4 pictures left, so we got this idea to do snow angels in the snow. We all laid down and took our positions. Snap, snap, two great shots. I stood up and was shivering so badly, and I quickly rubbed my hand together to warm them and I felt it slip. Yep. Right then and there, my ring was gone. I said, "Stop right there!! I lost my ring!!!" So I even know exactly when and where it happened. Lindsay offered to stay and help, but we hated to bug her and keep her from her family any longer. I took her home and got our snow shovel, flashlights, warm water, a candle lighter thing, gloves, a dust pan, and everything else I could quickly think of to grab. Well we searched for 2 1/2 hours and finally the fog was setting in so thick we could see anymore. Besides, we were freezing!!!! I had taken Quayd over to my brother's so he didn't have to endure the pain. I also remembered that Brandon had a metal detector. We tried that for awhile, but no luck. I am sure you are thinking, "Are you sure you had it on?" YES! I am sure. I even have the photos to prove it.

Can you see it there? On my left hand? Well it was right after this picture that I stood up and felt it slip away. It shouldn't be THAT hard to find, right? NOT!!!

I will try again when it is warmer, brighter, and meltier. Dang it.

Well here are a few more pics of the night. It was fun.

And the winner is..... this is the one you will see on our Christmas Cards.....

Wish us luck on our search. I have realized over the last 24 hours that I LOVE my ring. I always thought it was great and pretty and all, but I truly love it. I miss it. Another ring wouldn't replace it. Brett picked that ring out for me and I have had it for almost 10 years! It's not the biggest ring in the world, but to me, it is the prettiest. I hope we find it. To be continued.........
