the one about Bob

Everybody knows what suckers we are when it comes to cats.

Well, here is the newest member of out family. Bob. Let me just tell you about him.

Cons: He is filthy. He stinks like pee. When he comes inside, he makes my whole house smell like pee. He is kind of mean (but getting better). He has a totally deformed, short tale (hence, the name Bob). He has 7 toes of each of his front feet. He is a pig. He has the most awful loud yowl. And he isn't very cute.

Pros: He stays outside 98% of the time. Sometimes we don't see him for days. He has a few extras.... such as toes and possibly chromosomes (I am digging deep for pros!). My other cats don't hate him. He doesn't pee on my floor or my bed.

So right in the middle of winter, Bob starting hanging around my back porch. I noticed him outside for a few days in a row and I was worried about him so I fed him. Then he just kept coming back for more. Imagine that. I tired to pet him a couple of times and he tried to bite me. Then we wouldn't see him for a few days. He kept coming around and my cats starting playing with him outside. Then we wouldn't see him for a few days. We tried petting him more and he started being nicer. Then we wouldn't see him for a few days. One night, Brett decided to let him in. Then we wouldn't see him for a few days. This has been going on for a few months now. Each time he comes in, he gets more and more comfortable and less and less nervous. We think he had to have been someones pet because he is quite friendly now that he is used to us and he seemed well fed. We have no idea where he came from or where he belongs, but as of last night, he thinks he belongs right here. We finally had to carry him outside last night because he wouldn't leave. He stunk so bad we couldn't stand him being inside anymore, and he is still a little unpredictable. Anyway, he is funny, and we kind of like him. Look at how weird his feet are. When he walks, it seriously looks like he is wearing mittens. It is like he has big thumbs. It is so funny!
And this picture cracks me up because this is Skeet's favorite place in the whole house and he is MAD that Bob is laying there. Well that is the latest report from the crazy cat lady!!!

the one about itty bitty kitty

Brett and I are such suckers. Look at what Quayd talked us into. It was kind of a funny story. It came from my sister-in-law Danette's mom's house. Her mom, ReAnn, ALWAYS has kittens. Seriously. You would think she would get the dang mother fixed.... anyway. Danette had been wanting this one, but knew my brother wouldn't let her have it. She went to her parents to get some corn stalks to decorate for fall. With the large amount of cats at her parents house, he dad was really bugging her to bring one home. When they were loading the corn stalks in the car, her dad put the kitten in there too! She didn't even know until she got home and there was the kitty.

Now let me rewind a bit...... A few weeks ago, ReAnn brought a couple of the kitties to Danette's because one of her friends wanted one. Quayd saw them and BEGGED us to let him have one. He hasn't forgotten and begs us all the time for one. We kept saying no.

Ok, fast forward to last Friday. Danette and Brandon were unloading the corn stalks, and "SURPRISE!" There is the kitty. Brandon was, of course, annoyed. Quayd walked over right then and saw it. He said, "Danette! I didn't know you got one of the kitties!" and Brandon jumped in, "No. It's not Danette's. ReAnn sent it for you. It is your Birthday present." Everyone had a good laugh, but Quayd took it serious. He was SO touched that ReAnn would give him a kitty for his Birthday. He loves ReAnn, by the way. So, he came home with it, and we didn't have the heart to make him give it back. Danette and Brayden were a little sad, I think because they really wanted the cat. Brandon, however, was not on board. Sooooo, now we are the proud owners of three cats.

Brett wanted to be really mad about it all, but look what I caught them doing a few days ago....

Orange loves the baby too. They are together all of the time. Its pretty sweet. Look how cute they were all cuddled up the other day. They love this Lightning McQueen blanket and my pink neck pillow.

We finally decided on the name Itty Bitty. As she gets older, I am sure we will drop the "Itty."

the one about Orange's new "do"

Our cat, Orange, is seriously the hairiest thing ever. He is so hairy that he cannot even bathe himself. He sheds like nothing I have ever seen before and I am so tired of cleaning up orange cat hair I could just scream! So today, I decided to do something about it. Orange went to the groomer.

It was the best $40.00 I have ever spent.

the one about Orange

Orange is our cat. We got him when Quayd was 3. It was right before Halloween. Quayd was trying to chose the perfect name for the new kitten, and he finally decided on "Orange." Makes sense, I guess. Well, I don't mean to be rude, but seriously.... Orange is about the stupidest animal you have ever seen. We love him to death, but oh my gosh. STUPID!!! He really is a good cat, though, and I am super glad we have him. He gives our other cat, Skeet (aka; My precious baby!!!), company. And he also gives Quayd a lot of love and companionship. Now for the real reason for this post. Lately, I have noticed Orange doing the strangest thing. I can't believe it, but I finally caught it on video this morning. He sits in my front window and when he sees a bird outside, he does this weird clicking thing with is tongue. He does it all of the time. It is so bizarre. Don't worry, the video is short! I know that you probably don't really care that much about what my idiotic cat does, so don't feel obligated to watch!

He did it for like 30 minutes straight this morning. But then all of a sudden, he got tired, and fell asleep.

Here he is with Skeet a few days ago. They were giving each other a bath. Isn't that precious! Ok, I will quit boring you with my dumb cat stuff. I really am not a crazy cat lady or anything. Really.

tho one about my trip to NYC

Don't get to excited. It was a long time ago. Nearly 15 years ago to be exact, but yesterday in my post about my Uncle Kim, I mentioned my trip and my good friend Vanessa left a comment that sparked my memory. So I decided to tell you a little bit about it.

Remember how I told you uesterday that my cool Uncle Kim was a High School teacher? Well he was also involved with the Drama stuff. For a couple of years, he and the Drama teacher, Mr. Dickson took drama students to NYC. I can't really remember how it all happened, but they ended up with a odd number of people and I got to be the extra. It was very last minute and a huge surprise when he told me he was taking me. I was So excited. I was also thrilled to go with my cousin Brooke, who I idolized.

So we flew to NYC and stayed in a hotel and went to tons of Broadway Shows. We went to Macy's, Bloomingdales, the Statue of Liberty and tons of other places. I even saw Matthew Broderick!!!!! We were there the weekdend of the Tony Awards and we were the annoying people that stood out side and shouted at the stars as they got out of the limos. Since it was broadway, I didn't really know too many stars except for Matthew Broderick. We also saw him in the show he was staring in.

So the whole thing that triggered this blog is a comment from my frined Vanessa yesterday. Let me copy and paste.

"HA! I remember when you went to NYC. Didn't people on the subway scream at you because you were wearing those green foam Statue of Liberty crowns?"

You were close, Vanessa. I was actually teased on the ferry about the statue of liberty crown.

Now the subway teasing came from the shirt I bought at the musical CATS. It was all black and had two green cat eyes on the back and said CATS on the front. We walked all over the city that day, and every perv on the street said, "Here, Kitty Kitty!" It was awful and I wnated to cry!! I was so offended. I don't have a good picture of the shirt, but this is me wearing it. I was wearing white shorts and the T-Shirt. (Look how cute and skinny I was.) :( That was taken in Central Park feeding squirrels.

Anyway, it was a super fun trip and I was super excited to get to go. Thanks Kim!!!

Here are a few more pictures.
